Chicago’s (2nd) Most Expensive property asks $22 million

Chicago’s “most expensive” list just gained a new contender.

Located on Lake Shore Drive, a historic property just hit the real estate market at $22 million — making it Chicago’s second most expensive currently for sale. Comprised of two structures, the offering includes a mansion and museum owned by the International College of Surgeons. These buildings represent two of the only seven surviving landmarked homes along Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive, according to Crain’s. After an unsuccessful effort to sell the mansion at 1516 N. Lake Shore Drive in 2016, the group decided to bundle the neighboring properties together.

For an asking price of $22 million, a prospective buyer would enjoy sprawling views of Lake Michigan and ornate architectural finishes, such as marble floors, grand staircases, and original plaster ceilings. For more information on 1516-24 N. Lake Shore Drive, contact Crystal Tran (312-368-5300)
