I randomly picked this place while visiting Chi Town from Philly and WOW!!! So impressed from the moment we walked in! Super impressed by how serious they are about Covid restrictions (plastic wrapped silverware, washing hands upon entry). Our waitress was super friendly, food came fast and it was DELICIOUS! And the free biscuits…SOOO GOOD!!! Highly, highly recommend. I wish I had some photos to share but I ordered the Country Fried Steak dinner and my friend got the fried green tomatoes & Famous Shrimp and Cheesy Grits Appetizer- Zakiya K.

I saw this restaurant on Yelp and had been meaning to check it out. We don’t have many African restaurants near us so I wanted to try it. Was not disappointed at all. Wife had the tilapia and I got the chicken. Portions were enough for two meals each. I love the spice And it’s got some heat. It’s perfect. Chicken was cooked just right. Not dry at all. Nice selection of sides to try. They have some curry stew dishes that I’m going to try next time we go. It was so good, we went twice in one week. Their take out service is just great. This is one of the hidden gems as far as Southern cuisine (with a twist) goes on the southside. The food is simply amazing it’s always consistent with the taste and how it is prepared. It seems as if they never have a bad day. I love all of their dishes. They did a birthday party for me recently and people were constantly talking about how good the food was. This restaurant is a must try, you will not be disappointed. The staff members are very friendly and kind. They are a pleasure to do business with. The salmon is always cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes are to die for. If they happen to have the poundcake the day you decide to go, make sure to pick up a slice I’m sure you will really enjoy it. Marcella D.

This is an excellent place. My school scheduled an event there. There was an open bar. The bar tenders were very attentive and efficient. And friendly. The food set out for our party was shrimp, wings, meatballs, salad, cheese, etc. the shrimp, wings and cheese are delicious. Steve W.

Fantastic!!! Best sauce! Not too sweet. Tender, flavorful, delicious meat. The greens were savory, the rice and gravy fulfilling and hearty. I have tried various veggie sides and they are all good. I love to heat up the sides the next day, even though the meat is gone they are still yummy. Sasha V.
