Fried Chicken Heaven
Chicago is known for food. Period. We’ve got hotdogs, pizza, burgers, sandwiches of the italian beef variety, and so much more. And each of these foods has a fest in the summer to enjoy to their fullest. So why is fried chicken left out? It’s great for picnics, sporting events – hangovers. There are so many amazing spots to snack on these crispy birds in the city, so we wrote some of ’em down for you to sift through at your leisure. Sauce is optional, but recommended.
1. Side Street Saloon
This place has some seriously amazing food that you’d never expect from this hole-in-the-wall saloon. The pizza is spectacular, the cheese curds are great, but the wing zings are where its at, hardcore. So crispy that the meat inside is like a juicy surprise waiting under a salty, sweet crust. Yum.
2. Crisp
East meets west at this Korean chicken hut. These recipes aren’t just adventurous, fusion food, they are dangerously delicious.
3. Bucks
Yep, that photo is real. It’s homemade horseradish ranch, homemade biscuits, homemade heaven. *swoons*
4. Gus’s World Famous
Looking for true, authentic southern fried chicken? This is your spot.
5. Do-Rite Donuts & Chicken
I can’t. Stop. Yum! This takes salty sweet to a whole new level.
6. The Roost Carolina Kitchen
Come for breakfast. These biscuits are made the southern way and the chicken is absolutely incredible.
